Built on One Act of Obedience
OurLight Ministries began with a simple need: to stay anchored in what God’s Word actually says, rather than what any one voice says about it. I built a system, and eventually a tool, to help me study Scripture more deeply, stay grounded in the text, and step back from the noise and distraction that social media so often brings into a believer’s walk.
What started as something I needed for myself became something we believe others need too.
“For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11
Why It’s Free
God’s Word should not be monetized. The core of this ministry, the alignment tool and the study resources, is free, and it will stay that way for as long as we can sustain it. That’s a conviction, not a marketing decision.
As this grows, we may offer a few things at as close to cost as we can manage: journals, apparel, printed study materials. Not to build a business, but to help fund what comes next: vision trips, conferences, children’s ministry, camps. The feedback believers share will help decide which of these come first, so that what we fund serves Christ’s command to go and make disciples. If believers don’t want these things, we won’t force them into existence. And if you ever feel prompted to give beyond that, gifts are always welcome and always stewarded carefully.
Why It Matters to Me
I’ll be honest about part of what shaped this: I built this tool, in part, in the middle of my own fight against a besetting sin I couldn’t shake through willpower alone. Scripture and daily discipline in the Word became part of how I found freedom. Out of that, I’ve put together a Battle Plan, a journaling packet for others walking that same fight, and I’ll be adding a page here with a free link to it. If you’ve used it, I’d genuinely welcome your feedback.
Who We Serve
OurLight exists for every believer seeking to grow deeper in faith and walk closer with Christ. Whether you’re leading a study group, raising a family, or simply searching for renewal in your daily walk, OurLight is here to help you stay aligned with the Word of God.
We’re building for the Body of Christ: for churches, ministries, small groups, and individual believers who desire to walk in truth and light together.
All for His glory, built upon His foundation.
Help Shape What This Becomes
This ministry is still young, and we’d rather build it with you than for you. If something here isn’t working, if a tool is missing, or if you have thoughts on what would actually help your walk with Christ, tell us. That feedback shapes what gets built next far more than our own guesses do.
