Overview
OurLight Ministries (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates ourlight.org and the Scripture Alignment Tool at aligned.ourlight.org. This policy covers both. We collect very little personal information, we do not sell or share it for advertising, and we do not run ad-tracking on our site.
OurLight content is free forever. We are not building a marketing list or a data business. The information below exists to run a contact form, process voluntary donations, and take feedback, nothing more.

Information We Collect
Contact form. When you write to us through the contact form on ourlight.org, we collect your name, email address, and message. Submissions are handled by Netlify Forms and emailed to our team so we can reply. We do not add contact-form senders to a mailing list.
Feedback form. The “Share Feedback” link on our site opens a Google Form. Anything you choose to submit there is collected by Google Forms and is subject to Google’s own privacy practices while it sits in their system, before we retrieve it.
Scripture Alignment Tool. When you use the tool at aligned.ourlight.org, the principle, theme, passage, or question you submit is sent to Google’s Gemini API (via Google AI Studio) so the tool can generate a response. Our use of the Gemini API is on a paid, billing-enabled basis, which under Google’s API terms means this content is not used by Google to train or improve its models. Google may still process it briefly to run the service, monitor for abuse, and meet legal requirements, consistent with Google’s own privacy policy and the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service. No account or sign-up is required, and we do not attach your name or contact information to anything you submit through the tool.
Donations. If you choose to give through the “Support Our Mission” link, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a gift was made; we do not receive or store your card number or full payment details.
Standard web logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance. We do not use this data for advertising or to build a profile of visitors.
Fonts. Our site loads typefaces from Google Fonts’ servers. Loading a font this way can expose your IP address to Google as a normal part of how web fonts are delivered; we do not use this for tracking.
How We Use Information
- To reply to messages sent through the contact form.
- To read and consider feedback submitted through the feedback form.
- To generate a response in the Scripture Alignment Tool.
- To confirm and process donations (handled by Stripe, not by us directly).
- To keep the site secure and working properly.
We do not use any of this information for advertising, do not build marketing profiles, and do not sell it to anyone.
Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers that make our site and tools work, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Netlify: hosts the site and processes the contact form.
- Google Forms: hosts the optional feedback form.
- Google (Gemini API): processes the text you submit to the Scripture Alignment Tool in order to generate a response.
- Stripe: processes donations.
- Google Fonts: delivers typefaces used on the site.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We would only disclose information beyond this if legally required to do so.
Data Retention
Contact-form and feedback messages are kept as long as needed to respond and for basic recordkeeping, then may be deleted. Scripture Alignment Tool submissions are processed by Google’s Gemini API to generate a response and are not linked to your identity by us; any retention on Google’s side is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policy, since we do not control Google’s infrastructure. Children’s Privacy
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Choices
- You are never required to create an account or sign up to use the Scripture Alignment Tool.
- You can decline to use the contact or feedback forms and still reach us by emailing info@ourlight.org directly.
- You can ask us to tell you what information we have from you, or to delete it, by writing to info@ourlight.org.
Changes to This Policy
If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted through our normal ministry channels.
